Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation (DI&I), Customs, Hyderabad has made 24 seizures worth Rs 62.8 million during ongoing fiscal year. According to Director DI&I, Customs Hyderabad Dr Sadiqullah, the Directorate with inadequate resources has shown unprecedented performance by establishing 24 cases of seizures worth Rs 62.8 million during ongoing fiscal year, which is almost 100 percent higher than the preceding period.

During July 2018 to April, 2019, the Directorate has confiscated nine vehicles involved in smuggling worth Rs 20.02 million, around 150,000 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel worth Rs 8.05 million, 20,500 pouches of contraband Indian Gutka worth Rs 9.69 million, 36,250 packets of foreign origin cigarettes worth Rs 8.68 million, 25,780 kilograms of betel nuts worth Rs 4.57 million, three non-customs paid vehicles worth Rs 2.75 million, 133 pairs of smuggled tyres worth Rs 2.17 million, 24,882 pairs of foreign origin footwear worth Rs 6.16 million and 90 bottles of liquor worth Rs 0.3 million.
